Wild Flowers of Devon Dunes

Took myself and camera to Woolacombe beach today to look at some of the glorious wild flowers in the sand dunes. The scent of the Ladies Bedstraw filled the air despite the strong NW wind and proved why it was so frequently added to straw mattresses in days when people were far from fragrant!!

Hope you enjoy the pics. Do come and visit this incredible county if you get the chance. Woolacombe is just one of its many treasures.

  1. thank you for the pictures, it brings back memories of playing in them when I was 14/15 with my younger brothers and sisters. They had only just planted some of them back then. It is a lovely place to go and I had endless fun belly surfing on the beach.
