Swiss Cashmere goats

Our trip earlier this week was to the Toggenburg region near Zurich to see our export goats from last year and their progeny.

The pictures will give you a flavour. The Swiss farmers are so enthusiastic it’s always a pleasure to meet them and work together to improve their fibre. They have a long way to go to catch up with the 25 years of work the Macaulay Institute put in to my goats but they are determined to get there. I have no doubt they will.

I always come away inspired by the people, the landscape and the surroundings. Just look at that amazing roof in Zurich! A gift for anyone trying to think creatively in their weaving!
